Question: is it even Christmas these days if you don’t go to a wreath-making workshop?

I loved my session with @bizzylizzys yesterday - such a mindful morning of creating. I may not have the most Instagram-worthy front door in the world, but I think my wreath is pretty nice ☺️💙. Thanks to Isabel who made the session an absolute pleasure. I added the pink sprigs from my garden for a pop of colour, and because: pastels. My favourite at any time of year. 🌸🌿🌲 Sadly, it’s less white, more grey in our little town today, but that hasn’t stopped me turning my pen to Christmas.

Over on the blog today there are a few of my thoughts on the case for a simpler Christmas. Less presents, more of something else.

Anyone else reining things in a bit this year? Trying to focus a little more on experiences, not gifts? It’s Christmas past, present and future (taster below if you’re interested). The link is in my bio and I’d love to know your thoughts.

As parents then, perhaps the best kind of gift we can give to our children this Christmas is understanding.

Understanding that thoughtfulness, care and attention should always win out over ‘stuff.’ The understanding that giving means more than receiving – giving joy and love and gratitude.

Laughter. Family. Christmas dinner.

The simple things.

This Christmas, perhaps less is really more. 💙 Where we live, the skies are big and open.

It has advantages. 💙

#onandonandon We’ve just had of those weekends that really fills up the glass for Monday.

Parkrun, comfort food, cosy movie nights, a walk on the beach at sunrise.

And this. 🌈 💙 ‘Home is not a place only, but a condition of the heart.’ 💛💫 #sundaysunrise #harrywpaige Happy St Andrews Day from a Hungarian boy whose heart belongs to Scotland. (Or really, anywhere in the world where there is cheese.) 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁳󠁣󠁴󠁿
