The North Coast 500 is the name given to one of the most beautiful coastal drives Scotland has to offer. As the title suggests, it covers 500 miles of the North Highland’s most scenic landscape, starting and finishing in the city of Inverness.
We are lucky enough to live alongside the official North Coast 500 route and spend a lot of time travelling in and around it in our VW campervan. You’ll find lots of articles on North Coast 500 locations here, as well as information on many hidden gems found off the tourist trail (with a sprinkling of insider local knowledge). Look out for a full guide to the route coming to the blog in 2017, and in the meantime check out my articles on Sandwood Bay and the Scottish Midge for starters.
If you’re planning a trip to the far north of Scotland soon, you’ll find lots more information on the official North Coast 500 website.
